The 3MG Doctoral School Day takes place in Nantes!
Organised once a year, the Matter, Molecules, Materials and Geosciences Regional Doctoral School Day (3MG) brings together PhD students and researchers in chemistry, physical chemistry and geosciences from the different sites in the Pays de la Loire (Le Mans, Angers and Nantes). This event is an opportunity to discuss the research work of each of them.
The day will be held on 25 May 2023, in person, on the campus of the UFR Sciences et Technique of Nantes University (2 Chemin de la Houssinière, 44300 Nantes).
This year, we invite you to travel through the Dimensions of the Universe. From the macro to the microscopic scale, from 2D to 3D, from space to time, get ready to make a journey from the smallest particles of the atom to the confines of the Universe, passing through molecular structures for materials and biology.
A plenary lecture by Professor Christophe Sotin, holder of a European ERC Advanced Grant, will introduce the day and mark the entry of the Laboratory of Planetology and Geosciences (LPG) into the Doctoral School.
This Doctoral School Day will be an opportunity for the PhD students to present their thesis. All themes are accepted. You will be able to participate in this day with a 15 min oral presentation (10 min + 5 min questions), a poster (A0 format, portrait) or as a free listener. Oral presentations and posters must be in English. Prizes will be awarded to the best posters and presentations by an eclectic and interdisciplinary jury of researchers and PhD students.
For the oral presentations, priority will be given to third year participants who have never contributed to a Doctoral School Day. As a reminder, to defend your PhD, you must participate in two 3MG Doctoral School Days with at least one contribution (presentation or poster) during one of your participations.
Deadline for registration and submission of abstracts: 20 April 2023. There is no template. The abstract has to respect the following rules: 500 words max (title and references included) and no graphics.
Transportation and lunch will be covered. A convivial moment will be offered at the end of the day. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the organising committee at jed-3mg-nantes2023@sciencesconf.org
